Our Story
The founder of Garden Groomer, Kathy Call Grainer, has had an interest in gardening for most of her life. As a child, she was the "weeder" of the family vegetable garden, and as a result, in college, she studied Environmental Science. In 1995, and again in 2016, she completed the Master Gardener program. When she saw her mother slowing down 25 years ago, she began maintaining her gardens and used them to encourage her mother to come out to "view the beauty" (in actuality, to get her to exercise).
While gardening, she worried that there must be gardeners out there who could no longer keep up with the maintenance their beloved plants required, and she wondered, "Who could they call?" Grass cutting businesses often don't have the necessary expertise. Adult children and other relatives are usually too busy. Thus, in March of 2008 the Garden Groomer was born. Since then, over 380 gardens have been groomed!
What do we do?
Garden Groomers care for all gardens with the same precision, attention to detail, and caring gentleness that you would, if you had the time and energy to do so.
As we garden, we try to work as if we were working in our grandmother's garden. No one ever wants to disappoint their grandmother!
This means that we treat our clients with respect, and we give our consideration to the particulars, as if the garden had to pass grandmother's scrutiny.
